JAKARTA - European multinational aerospace company Airbus announced on Tuesday January 10 that it had delivered 661 commercial aircraft to customers in 2022.

"In 2022 we will serve 84 customers with 661 shipments, an increase of 8.0 percent compared to 2021," the group said, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, January 11.

The A320 family is the most popular type of aircraft, with 516 shipments worldwide. However, the new A350 flagship aircraft only has 60 shipments.

Guilleume Faury, Airbus chief executive, said the number of commercial aircraft sent was "clear" less than the target.

However, Airbus recorded 1,078 new gross orders in 2022, with a backlog (order register that has not been handled) of 7,239 pesawadts at the end of December 2022.

"Significant incoming orders cover all of our aircraft families, including cargo, reflecting the strength and competitiveness of our product lines," said Faury.

In July 2022, Faury revised the delivery target from 720 to around 700 commercial aircraft, due to supply chain problems.
