JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) has sent clean water facilities and infrastructure as well as sanitation needed for flood victims in Kudus, Central Java, and Wajo, South Sulawesi.

PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said the availability of clean water facilities and infrastructure, as well as sanitation for daily needs for victims and refugees during the emergency response period were the most important thing.

"We also use the nearest drinking water treatment plant (IPA) and mobile IPA to supply clean water, especially to evacuation posts," Basuki said in a press statement, as quoted on Tuesday, January 10.

Based on data from the Central Java Regional Settlement Infrastructure Center (BPPW), a total of three portable toilets and two public hydrants have been distributed to the people in Karangrowo Village, Undaan District, Kudus Regency.

The support for facilities and infrastructure is to increase the capacity of clean water sources during the emergency response period according to the Regent's Decree as of January 1, 2023.

In addition to Kudus Regency, the Ministry of PUPR has also sent assistance for sanitation clean water facilities and infrastructure to the location of the flood disaster in the Wajo Regency area which occurred from Saturday, December 24, 2022, to January 8, 2023.

Until now, public hydrants have been installed with a capacity of 2,000 liters each at three points, namely Jalan Budi Utomo, Mattirotappareng, Kec Tempe (Titik 1), Jalan Jangko, Mattirotappareng, Kec Tempe (Titik 2), and Jalan Jangko, Danau Tempe, Kec Tempe (Titik 3).
