Pulau PUNJUNG - Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono ensured that the construction of a toll feder or toll road connecting the Sumatra Toll Road in Dharmasraya Regency, West Sumatra, will not begin in 2023.

"Not yet this year, first preparation," he said, quoted from Antara, Friday, January 6.

Minister Basuki made this certainty during his visit during the inauguration of the Dharmasraya Grand Mosque, which is located on the edge of Jalan Lintas Sumatra, Nagari Gunung Medan, Sitiung Glass, Dharmasraya Regency, West Sumatra.

He said that the plan to build toll feeders was the idea of Regent Sutan Riska leaving the Kingdom proposed for a long time, in the future the Ministry of PUPR will see and review the fissibility study first.

According to him, in 2023 preparations will be made, because the process takes a long time before it reaches financing.

"This is just a pre-fisibility study, however, he (the regent) has already said that the land that will be used will be able to guarantee it," he said.

Meanwhile, Regent Sutan Riska asked the Kingdom in front of Minister Basuki to hope that the process of constructing the Dharmasraya-Regat toll feeder can be accelerated and the work can be carried out as soon as possible.

According to him, toll feeders will open access to Dharmasraya Regency and a number of regencies and cities in the central part of Sumatra to the Trans Sumatra Toll Road on the east side through Rengat.

The existence of the Dharmasraya-Regat toll feeder will also facilitate transportation routes such as cutting the travel time to Jakarta for up to 13 hours.

"So this is one of the advantages if currently Dharmasraya-Jakarta takes 24 hours. If this toll feeder is finished and the toll road is connected from Rengat to Lampung, it only takes 13 hours. Likewise, we hope that it will improve the community's economy, this will not only have an impact on the development of Dharmasraya, but on several regencies/cities in West Sumatra and Riau," he said.

Previously, the Head of the Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency Dharmasraya Junaedi Yunus said that the results of the toll feeder path feasibility study were proposed for two alternative routes that could be selected as the route.

He explained that the first route was shorter along 108 kilometers.

In Riau, this route is proposed to be connected to the Trans Sumatra toll road in Belilas, Indragiri Hulu. The second route is longer, which is 134 kilometers. This route is proposed to be connected to the Trans Sumatra toll road further north from the first proposal, to be precise, at Simpang Japura, Rengat, Inhu.

According to him, Dharmasraya and Inhu proposed a shorter route. Meanwhile, the Kuansing Regency Government proposes a longer route. However, what will determine which route is used is Hutama Karya as the executor.
