JAKARTA - Indonesian Vice President Maruf Amin inaugurated six Integrated Business Service Centers for Cooperatives and MSMEs (PLUT KUMKM) on Tuesday, December 27.

Ma'ruf hopes that with this PLUT, it can be an accelerator for the growth and development of MSME and entrepreneur cooperatives that have been driving the economy in the regions.

"I hope that MSMEs will not be stunted again. They will not continue to be stunted but will become even bigger companies," he told reporters, Tuesday, December 27.

Ma'ruf added that efforts to develop MSME and entrepreneur cooperatives are very important in all regions because they can build a more advanced and prosperous Indonesia.

"The government is very aware of the huge potential of MSMEs, including their contribution to GDP and economic growth and its role in employment. However, we still have serious homework because the majority of MSMEs are still on a micro and small scale," he continued.

Just so you know, currently Indonesia's entrepreneurship ratio has only reached 3.47 and is under neighboring countries such as Thailand which reached 4.2 percent, Malaysia 4.7 percent, even Singapore which has reached 8.7 percent.

Furthermore, he added, PLUT has a strategic position as a development of the spirit of entrepreneurship.

This is stated in Presidential Regulation Number 2 of 2022 concerning Entrepreneurship Development, PLUT KUMKM has been declared as one of the Executive Agencys for National Entrepreneurship Development in the regions.

For your information, PLUT KUMKM is one of the strategic programs of the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs (KemenKopUKM) by providing inclusive and empowering business assistance services to cooperatives, MSMEs and entrepreneurs comprehensively and integrated and technology-based.

PLUT has been established since 2013, until now there have been 74 KUMKM PLUT units spread across 74 districts/cities in 32 provinces throughout Indonesia.
