JAKARTA - President Director of the Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDPKS) Eddy Abdurrachman revealed that his party will disburse funds of Rp. 51 billion to build three red food oil factories.

"There are three cooperatives that will be tasked with managing them. If not one of the factories is Rp. 17 billion," he told the media quoted on Friday, December 23.

Eddy said that later the construction of the red food oil factory would be built in collaboration with the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs (Kemenkop UKM) when piloting the project. This manufacturer will later be built in the North Sumatra region.

"What coordinates is that the Kemenkop will pilot in three places for the construction of red food oil, all of which are located in North Sumatra, which will all be collaborated from the Palm Oil Research Center," he explained.

Previously, Coordinating Minister for SMEs Teten Masduki ensured the readiness of a red food oil factory in Deli Serdang, North Sumatra, which is planned to operate in early 2023.

"I am optimistic that the pilot project for the production of red food oil will run as planned, which can be launched in January 2023," said Teten Masduki.

On the same occasion, Chairman of the Research Group for Downstream Oil Center (PPKS) Frisda Rimbun Pandjaitan stated that the construction progress of red eating oil development currently reaches 25 percent. This is due to the relatively high rainfall in North Sumatra and factory tools that are still in the process of being ordered.

"Our overall progress has been 25 percent in construction because some tools and machines are still in the preorder process. In addition, the rainfall in North Sumatra has recently been extraordinary, thus disrupting our speed in factory construction," said Frisda.

However, Frisda hopes that the construction of the factory can run according to the schedule given.
