Anticipate Food Crisis, ID Food Prepares A Supply Chain Control System

JAKARTA - President Director of Food Holding ID Frans Marganda Tambunan said that his party is currently preparing an integrated food supply chain system called Supply Chain Control Tower (SCCT).

This SCCT system, said Frans, is a form of BUMN ID Food support for Government Food Reserves (CPP) programmed by the government.

"We are preparing to digitize the system to support the CPP program, later this SCCT system will function for supply mapping and food distribution demand," he said in an official cage, Friday, December 23.

Frans explained that this digitalization innovation was able to integrate upstream food from the producer level to distributors with integrated logistics operational support and managed by the logistics sector ID Food Group.

At the producer level, said Frans, this system records producers based on commodities throughout Indonesia, product specifications, food production patterns based on seasons and food price trends to payment systems at the producer level.

Meanwhile, at the distributor level, said Frans, this system will record commodity distributors in various regions, payment systems, monitoring of market price movements or consumer prices throughout the region in order to maintain a supply balance.

"So, ID Food as the operator of the digitalization system will operate the supply system and food stock demand, and it can be known through the system if there is an increase in food stock demand. The operation of this system also includes mapping food logistics assets, monitoring the flow of food stocks including the transaction process and evaluating the distribution of each food commodity in each region," he said.

Frans said this step was an effort to secure food supplies. As a first step, ID Food invites the collaboration of food producers to synergize with BUMN ID Food in food mapping upstream, logistics service providers from various modes, food distributors throughout Indonesia, and related stakeholders including government institutions as a joint effort to support the Government's food reserve program.

"This step is as mandated by SOE Minister Erick Thohir to Food SOEs to help monitor food availability and SOEs must be present in meeting the needs of the community," he said.
