JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Finance (Wamenkeu) Suahasil Nazara stated that the dream of realizing sustainable development in Indonesia has its own challenges amidst the continuing condition of global uncertainty.

According to him, the government has identified at least three main issues in order to achieve sustainable development. The first is energy security.

"This means that we have an energy source, then the energy is affordable and the energy is in accordance with environmentally friendly or green principles," he said at an Indonesia Economic Outlook 2023 event on Tuesday, December 20.

Suahasil explained, several aspects in the energy are closely related. The reason is, the availability of abundant energy without paying attention to environmental principles and affordability will only cause new problems.

The second is food security. This includes many things, such as the needs of farmers, supporting infrastructure, and efforts to create a good food market," he said.
