Fulfill TKDN 87 Percent, PLN Completes The 275 KV GITET National Strategic Project In Siberanya

PT PLN (Persero) has successfully completed the construction of an Extra High Voltage Substation (GITET) with a capacity of 275 kiloVolts (kV) in Sikebungan, Toba, North Sumatra. With the use of local materials or the Domestic Component Level (TKDN) reaching 87 percent, this National Strategic Project (PSN) will strengthen electricity network infrastructure in the North Sumatra region.

General Manager of PLN UIP North Sumatra (Sumbagut) Octavianus Duha said the completion of this GITET was marked by the first voltage (energy) on Thursday, December 8, 2022.

Octavianus explained that the construction of this GITET will increase the reliability of the electricity system in the North Sumatra region and support the distribution of clean energy from the Asahan Hydroelectric Power Plant (PLTA).

"Reliability of the electricity system plays an important role in supporting the community's economy. PLN is ready to be present to support North Sumatra's economic growth," he said in a written statement, Wednesday, December 14.

Octavianus added that the success of the development of this national strategic project is also a form of PLN's dedication to electrifying the entire country.

Furthermore, he explained, the success of the completion of GITET 275 kV Si Kesawat cannot be separated from the full cooperation and support from the local government. The process of providing voltage or energy is carried out through a series of stages of testing and testing equipment (commissioning) marked by the issuance of a Voltage Fee (RLB).

In addition, the construction of GITET 275 kV Si Pengadilan was successfully completed on time and zero accident.

"The reliability of North Sumatra's electricity increases with the success of applying voltage to IBT#2 GITET 275kV Si Empir. PLN Group and related stakeholders play a very important role from the beginning of the implementation to the completion of the construction of this project," he said.

He hopes that the presence of GITET 275 kV Si Goyang will not only increase the reliability of the electricity sector in North Sumatra, but also have an impact on the economic growth of the surrounding community.

"We are optimistic that the increase in electricity reliability will support the business world, especially residents in the Toba subsystem area. So that it can improve the welfare of the entire community," he said.
