YOGYAKARTA Ahead of the 2023 Christmas and New Year Holidays, the government waives toll fees. However, not all toll roads will be free.

The free toll road at the end of 2022 is quite encouraging, especially for people who have planned travel.

As is known, the flow of vehicles on several toll roads will be crowded during the year-end holidays, especially during Christmas and New Year's 2022. With the exemption from toll fees, it is hoped that it will reduce congestion at toll gates. However, it must be known that not all toll roads will be free. Here are some toll roads that will be free of charge by the management.

During the Nataru holiday, there are eight toll roads that will operate functionally. With this status, drivers are not charged when crossing the toll road.

Head of the Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) of the Ministry of PUPR, Danang Parikesit, said that eight toll roads were prepared. It's just that drivers still have to tap electronic money cards. The eight toll roads are as follows.

One of the sections to be free of charge is the Bekasi-Cawang-Kampung Melayu (Becakayu) Sections 2A and 2A Ujung (Jakasampurna-Marga Jaya) Toll Road. This section is planned to start operating at the end of 2022. This section length reaches 4.88 km.

The toll road in Central Java will also be free of functional status. This toll road is considered important to unravel the congestion that often occurs on North Coast Roads (Pantura). The length of this section of the toll road reaches 16.31 kilometers.

The Jakarta-Cikampek or South Japek II Section 3 Sadang-Kutanegara toll road will also be opened functionally. The opening will begin on December 18, 2022. This section length reaches 8.5 km and is still free for the public.

The Banda Aceh-Sigli Toll Road consists of 5 sections, but the functional opening is only in section 5 of the Bintang-Kutobaru and section 6 of the Kutobaru-Simpang Baitussalam section. The length of the toll road section 5 reaches 7.3 km, while section 6 is 5 km.

Krian-Legundi-Bunder-Manyar Toll Road Ramp JC Wringinanom is 7.45 km long. The Functional Feasibility Test on this toll road was carried out in October 2022.

The Cinere-Jagorawi (Cijago) Section 3A toll road will also be tested ahead of the 2022 Christmas and New Year holidays. This section is 3 km long.

The Ciawi-Sukabumi (Bocimi) Section 2 Cigombong-Cibadak toll road will be opened functionally ahead of Nataru 2022. This line is 11.9 km long.

"Fungsionals are not paid, although on several new toll roads they must still tap their e-money," said Head of the Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) of the Ministry of PUPR, Danang Parikesit.

The Kuala Tanjung - Tebing Tinggi - Parapat Toll Road is totally divided into 6 sections, while the one that will operate functionally in Nataru 2022 is section 1, namely Tebing Tinggi-Indrapura which is 20.4 km long.
