Telan Korban Jiwa, Komisi VII DPR Akan Call Amman Mineral Tomorrow

JAKARTA - Commission VII of the DPR RI has scheduled a second Public Hearing Meeting (RDPU) with the Board of Directors of PT Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara on Wednesday, December 14. Member of Commission VII DPR RI Adian Napitupulu said the RDPU was very important related to problems in Amman Mineral, especially the alleged casualties.

Adian hopes that Commission VII of the DPR RI will unanimously take a stand so that there will be a court process against Amman Mineral. Adian emphasized that the death of 4 people due to work accidents could not be considered as normal and just passed away.

"At least 4 casualties can be identified and dozens more are injured. This is an extraordinary incident that cannot be taken lightly and just forgotten. The DPR must have the courage to emphasize that the relevant Amman Board of Directors can be brought to court," he said to the media quoted on Tuesday, December 13.

Not only related to work safety, but Adian also said that the RDPU will also discuss violations of environmental impact governance to the management of corporate social responsibility funds or Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

"In addition to the various cases of work accidents, there are various kinds of violations committed by Amman, such as environmental violations, embezzlement of CSR funds. Indications of money (people) in the game with the executive must of course dare to be investigated," said Adian.

Previously reported on February 24, 2022, 1 person named Rachmat Handi died. Meanwhile, two other people, Muliadi and Soeparto, suffered physical disabilities. Then on Sunday, March 24, 2019, there was a work accident in the Batu Hijau project area with the victim named Agustiman, who was 49 years old, died, and 3 other people were treated for injuries.

Then on Friday, April 23, 2021, an employee driver of PT MacMahon (AMman Mineral partner) named Abdul Hakim died in a haulttruck accident. It didn't stop there, on Sunday, March 24, 2021, there was also a work accident in the MWM Laydon Area. An employee named Agustiman (49) became a victim of death.

Furthermore, on December 28, 2019, an employee of PT MacMahon named Herman aged 34 years died because he was trapped in a collapse on the west wall of the Batu Hijau area.
