JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) through the Directorate General of Housing targets 80 units of RISHA earthquake-resistant houses (Simple Healthy Instant Houses) at the relocation site for earthquake victims in Sirnaginalih Village, Cilaku District, Cianjur Regency, to be completed by the end of 2022.

"As I promised the President of the Republic of Indonesia and asked for his blessing, we hope that we can complete the first 80 units of RISHA's house by the end of December this year," said Director General of Housing at the Ministry of PUPR Iwan Suprijanto in Cianjur, West Java, quoted from Antara, Sunday 11 December.

Iwan hopes that infrastructure in infrastructure, facilities and utilities (PSU) at the relocation site can also be built, so it is hoped that by New Year 2023, 80 families affected by the Cianjur earthquake will be able to move from evacuation to the relocation site.

"God willing, we can finish the rest in the third week of January next year, so that this area can be fully occupied by victims of the Cianjur earthquake at the end of January," he said.

Iwan said the relocation land had been declared clear and clean. Clear because of the justification of the BMKG this land is in a safe area and not above earthquake faults or other disaster-prone zones. Based on the justification of the Geological Agency, the relocation area is also above a safe and feasible topography.

"Meanwhile, from the local government side, the location of this relocation is also in accordance with the spatial plan for housing and settlements, because we see that there are a lot of housing around here," said Iwan.

Previously, PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono targeted the construction of houses that were badly damaged or collapsed due to the Cianjur earthquake, West Java, to be completed before Lebaran 2023.

The Ministry of PUPR, he continued, has prepared land for relocation in two places, namely 2.5 hectares in Cilaku and an area of 30 hectares in Mande, Cianjur. The relocation land in Cilaku is currently being worked on for about 200 units of RISHA with earthquake-resistant structures.

For land located in Mande, the Ministry of PUPR has started land clearing for the construction of around 2,400 houses.
