JAKARTA - Acting (Plt) Director General of Railways of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) Risal Wasal said that the progress of the construction of the Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Train (KCJB) had reached 91.70 percent.
"The construction progress until December 2022 is 91.70 percent based on the calculation of the actual investment value that has been issued by the contractor," said Risal, quoted from Antara, Thursday, December 8.
Risal said the KCJB project, which is planned to be built along 142.3 kilometers (km), will have four stations, namely Halim Station, Karawang Station, Padalarang Station, Tegalluar Station, and one Depo in Tegalluar.
He explained that the progress of each station, namely Halim Station, reached 74.19 percent, Karawang Station 72.72 percent, Padalarang Station 11.19 percent, Tegalluar Station 86.29 percent, and Tegalluar Depot reached 76.67 percent.
Bridge work reached 97.27 percent, basic land construction (subgrade) reached 80.41 percent, and tunnel construction reached 99.48 percent.
Risal conveyed that the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) as the regulator helped prepare operations through human resource certification, testing the feasibility of facilities and infrastructure, and assessing security.
"To support operations in June 2023, preceded by commissioning tests, integration, and operating trials," he said.
PT KAI is preparing two train services that will support KCJB connectivity, namely the Jabodebek LRT and the KCJB Feeder Train.
As the head of the KCJB project construction consortium, PT KAI said that passengers can directly move from Jabodebek Halim LRT Station to KCJB Halim Station because the two services have been integrated into the same location.
At Padalarang Station, KAI provides a Feeder train service whose schedule is adjusted to the KCJB arrival schedule. The travel time for the Feeder KCJB train to get to Bandung Station is only 18 minutes.
By using the connected train service, the total time needed between the center of Jakarta and Bandung is about an hour's journey.
