PENAJAM - Investors from South Korea intend to invest in the new renewable energy sector by building a solar panel factory (solar absorber for electrical energy) in North Penajam Paser Regency, East Kalimantan Province.

Apart from investors from South Korea, there are two other investors who are conducting licensing to build a battery factory and a soda ash factory (Na2Co3 sodium carbonate) in KIB North Penajam Paser Regency. The North Penajam Paser Regency Government has issued a permit for the management of the industrial area to the central government. 9,000 hectares of industry are prepared covering the Buliminung Village area, Jenebora, and Gersik Village in Penajam District.
