Nur Aini Terujura No LONGer Traveling With Her Family Thanks To The FABA-based Home Assistance From PLN

The presence of Steam Power Plants (PLTU) does not only flow electricity to the community. Fly Ash and Bottom Ash (FABA) which are waste from the coal burning process at PLTU Sebalang can now supply blessings and benefits to the community thanks to the people's economic program from PT PLN (Persero).

The benefits of this FABA are also felt by Nur aini, a resident of Sebalang hamlet in South Lampung. Through the PLN Peduli program, this 60-year-old woman also received comfort home assistance whose ingredients use FABA.

This elderly woman could not contain her emotions when the PLN Peduli team handed over her house, which has now been renovated into a new, habitable house. Nur aini, who has been living in the family's house, thanked PLN.

"Alhamdulillah, I thank PLN very much for its assistance, so I don't ride anymore and this house is much more feasible," said Nuraini in a written statement received, Saturday, December 3.

Nur aini said that since her husband died, she had to stay at the family's house. The reason is, the house occupied by Nuraini and her late husband had collapsed due to a tornado.

Nur aini added that he is now relieved that he was able to occupy the house he had abandoned for a long time and is now being rebuilt. This stronger and more comfortable building he hopes can be a moment for him to reorganize his better life.

PLN's FABA Utilization Vice President, Mustofa, said the use of FABA to support house construction shows this material is reliable construction material.

"This program is one of PLN's efforts to provide benefits to the community by using FABA. We hope that in the future similar programs will be even more massive and PLN will involve the community and surrounding stakeholders in the use of FABA," he said.

Similarly, PLN Sebalang UPK Manager, Dwi Suprianto explained that this activity was a form of use by FABA for the benefit of the community. Dwi explained that during 2022, UPK Sebalang had used 26,488 tons of FABA, one of which was for the construction of FABA houses.

"Through PLN Peduli, PLN has succeeded in building a FABA house with an area of 36 m2. The FABA is used for the manufacture of bricks, a mixture of cement for the cast of the foundation and the adhesive of the bricks walls," he explained.

PLN has so far set standards such as FABA mixing as a complaint material for cement, making bricks, commissioning and construction standards with the use of FABA.

The housing construction program using FABA is one of the efforts to increase the use of materials produced by burning coal for the benefit of the community.

Not only for the construction of houses, PLN Sebalang UPK in 2022 has distributed many benefits of FABA for the community and South Lampung Regency. Some of them are for paving FABA blocks in the education sector to road construction which encourages increased productivity and the economy of residents.
