JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) is committed to supporting the development of the atsiri oil industry in Indonesia from upstream to downstream.
"We are committed to developing the atsiri industry from upstream to downstream, including through industrial-preneurship growth built by multiscale business actors," said Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, quoted from Antara, Friday, December 2.
In a meeting with the atsiri oil industry some time ago, the Minister of Industry said that his party continues to spur the downstream industry to master product technology innovation research and production processes.

The Director General of Agro Industry at the Ministry of Industry, Putu Juli Ardika, explained that there are several determining factors for the growth of the atsiri industry, especially on the downstream side.
These factors include the formulation of final products, supply guarantees and the quality of raw materials, as well as the competence of industrial human resources (HR).
The Ministry of Industry has carried out several efforts to support the development of the Atsiri industry, including through facilitation which was carried out during the 2017-2021 period.
"This facility includes the preparation of raw atsiri oil SNI as industrial raw material, SNI Bioaditive Fuel Diesel as a marketing support for ready-to-use downstream products, training and certification of Atsiri Oil Industry HR competencies, to facilitating the promotion of the atsiri oil industry and developed countries to support the creation of mutually beneficial partnerships," said Putu.
While attending the National Conference on Atsiri Oil (KNMA) in Semarang, Thursday, Putu explained that the Ministry of Industry also provides support from the agribusiness side.
In addition, his party is also identifying the needs of the atsiri oil industry to improve quality and quantity, ranging from distillation, extraction to final product.
Chairman of the Indonesian Atsiri Council (DAI), Irdika Mansur said that currently many downstream products of atsiri oil are produced in Indonesia and in terms of packaging are not inferior to foreign product packaging.
"We appreciate the Ministry of Industry's support for the progress of the atsiri oil industry. One of the goals of the KNMA is to bring together business actors in the field of atsiri oil, from the farmer level to the exporter, industry, researchers, to the processor," said Irdika.
