OJK Leave Donations Of IDR 750 Million For Victims Of The Cianjur Earthquake

JAKARTA - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) together with financial services industry players (IJK) distributed donations of IDR 750 million to help people who were victims of the earthquake in Cianjur, West Java.

OJK Banking Supervision Chief Executive Dian Ediana Rae said that this assistance is expected to ease the burden on residents affected by the disaster.

"On behalf of OJK and IJK employees, today we convey assistance through the Governor of West Java for earthquake victims in Cianjur. We are really concerned and sorry because many victims fell," he said in a written statement on Thursday, November 24.

According to Dian, previously through this program, assistance with a total value of IDR 4.72 billion had been distributed.

"Through this assistance, we hope it can relieve earthquake victims," he added.

On the same occasion, West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil welcomed the contribution and active roles of OJK and IJK in disaster management.

"I would like to thank OJK and IJK who were present when residents needed it. God willing, this money assistance will be a logistics to convey to the citizens. This is very useful because OJK is not only concerned about the financial industry but also concerns humanity, because humanity is above all else," said Ridwan.

It is stated that the OJK and IJK Disaster Care programs will continue to be opened and coordinated by the OJK to collect donations to help deal with the impact of natural disasters and the handling of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.

Currently, OJK together with financial services industry players are in the process of collecting data and information about financial service offices affected by the earthquake in Cianjur Regency and trying to prevent services to the public from being disrupted and continue to operate properly.
