JAKARTA - The 2022 World Superbike (WSBK) motorcycle racing event which took place 11-13 November 2022 at the Mandalika Circuit, West Nusa Tenggara, was successful with reliable electricity without flickering.

The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Parekraf), Sandiaga Salahudin Uno, while watching the WSBK event expressed his appreciation to PLN for providing reliable electricity supply.

"Electricity is very important. If the electricity is byar pet, there will be no competition. This event will really depend on the availability of electricity. Thank you for the support from PLN who are always present at every event, both regional events and national and international events," said Sandiaga.

In line with the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, the Governor of West Nusa Tenggara, Zulkieflimansyah also appreciated PLN's performance during the 2022 World Superbike Mandalika event.

"Thank you to PLN for making our lives better in West Nusa Tenggara. We have hosted various international events such as World Superbike, MotoGP, MXGP and various international events. We have never had problems with electricity. Hopefully, PLN will continue to provide better service for NTB, for Indonesia and even the world," said Zulkieflimansyah.

General Manager of PLN NTB Regional Main Unit, Sudjarwo, who was also present at the event, emphasized PLN's commitment to provide reliable service for all events held, especially in West Nusa Tenggara.

"This is proof that PLN is indeed able to provide electricity services without flickering and is ready to provide the best service for NTB. The electricity supply is reliable, the event runs smoothly, of course it will improve the community's economy," said Djarwo.

Djarwo also expressed his gratitude and support provided by stakeholders and the community, in every effort made by PLN to electrify NTB.

In contrast to WSBK 2021, PLN only supplies electricity in five venues, namely the paddock area, the main pit building, race control, medical control, observation deck, in 2022 PLN will electrify a total of nine venues, namely the Main Festival, Nusantara Festival, Lombok Sumbawa Festival, paddock area, main pit building, race control, medical control, observation deck and VIP village. PLN has prepared a Zero Down Time scheme, to a layered electricity supply system, for the sake of reliable, quality and quality electricity services.

The need for electric power for the Mandalika circuit itself is 5.19 MVA which is supplied from two nearby Main Substations (GI). A total of 384 personnel are on standby to maintain the electricity of the 2022 WSBK event.
