The Financial Services Authority (OJK) continues to encourage companies or corporations to take advantage of the capital market as a source of funding and business development.

Most recently, OJK together with PT Bursa Efek Indonesia (IDX), PT Kliring Penjaminan Efek Indonesia (KPEI), and PT Kustodian Sentral Efek Indonesia (KSEI) again held the Integrated Capital Market Socialization and Education (SEPMT). This event took place in Batam, Riau Islands.

OJK Capital Market Supervisory Chief Executive Inarno Djajadi said the development of the banking industry was getting tighter in liquidity with the increasing interest rate.

"Therefore, the presence of the capital market is expected to be an alternative solution that is quite attractive for the company to strengthen the capital structure," he said in a press statement today, Wednesday, November 9.

Inarno also explained the benefits that could be obtained if the company would conduct a Public Offering in the capital market.

"There will be many benefits if the company conducts a public offering in the capital market, namely obtaining unlimited funding, improving company performance, company value, company image, professionalism which in turn can increase loyalty from employees, and obtaining tax incentives in the form of reducing corporate income tax rates," he said.

Inarno also revealed that the stability of Indonesia's capital market performance throughout 2022 still recorded positive and quite encouraging growth.

He said, in the third quarter, JCI growth and market capitalization values had crossed a record high in history. JCI's position is at the level of 7,318,016 as of September 13, 2022, with a market capitalization value of IDR 9,560 trillion on September 15, 2022.

Meanwhile, throughout this year the authorities have issued an effective statement letter on the registration statement in the context of public offering for 191 emissions consisting of 52 initial public offerings, 24 limited public offerings, 18 public offerings with debt and/or sukuk. As well as 97 sustainable public offerings with debt and/or sukuk in phase I and stage II.

"The total value of the public offering results is IDR 228.52 trillion," he said.

He added that of the 191 emission activities, 58 of them were new issuers (50 stock issuers and 8 bond/sukuk issuers).

In addition to the capital market socialization activity as an alternative source of funding for the company, the Batam SEPMT series also held various activities such as media gathering, CSR, socialization to local communities in the Batam area, Riau Islands, as well as meetings with potential issuers.
