Rice Market Operation In Cipinang, Mendag Zulhas: Safe Stock, Many Available

JAKARTA - Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan (Zulhas) ensures rice stocks are safe and available in large quantities.

Zulhas said the government had distributed government rice reserves (CBP) from Perum Bulog at a price of Rp. 8,900 per kilogram (kg).

"The rice is safe, a lot. There (PICB) all serves Bulog medium rice, the price is Rp. 8,900," he said during a market operation in Cipinang, East Jakarta, Monday, November 7.

For your information, the Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) together with the National Food Agency (Bapanas), the National Police Food Task Force, Perum Bulog, and the Indonesian Rice Association and Entrepreneurs (Perpadi) today held rice market operations at the Cipinang Rice Main Market.

Meanwhile, Head of the National Food Agency (Bapanas) Arief Prasetyo Adi said the government was indeed focusing on building a price of Rp. 8,900 per kg at the Cipinang Main Market level. Meanwhile, the price of rice in derivative markets is around Rp. 9,300 per kg.

"We built a price of Rp. 8,900 at the Cipinang Main Market level and Rp. 9,300 in the derivative market in Jakarta. We will also flush around 153 markets," said Arief.

Arief said, the price of rice is actually high at the producer level.

Therefore, he continued, the government distributed CBP or rice Availability of Supply and Price Stabilization (KPSH) to intervene in prices in the market.

"No matter how much stock is needed, including the Cipinang Main Market, around 3,000 tons a week, we will fulfill this, of course, the mobilization of stocks from Bulog warehouses in Indonesia," he said. Arief added that the government is also mobilizing rice stocks from South Sulawesi.

He said the Governor of South Sulawesi had confirmed that he would send 6,000 tons of rice for the addition of CBP.

"From NTB 9,845 tons, then from around Bulog around 14,000 tons to become the Governor, the Minister, the Head of the Food Task Force, Jakarta, will be flooded with stock soon," he said.

On the same occasion, Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono thanked the Minister of Trade and the Head of the National Food Agency for ensuring that the stock of mendium rice in Jakarta was available.

"Thank you, Mr. Minister, together with the Minister, for checking the certainty of the availability of medium rice for the KPSH program, so that Mr. Arif's Food Station as Head of the Food Agency ensures that it is available and I thank you, the Minister for backup so that we know here everything is available and medium rice is available," he said.
