Opening Services In Indonesia, IEC Telecom Joins Communication Solutions For The Defense Sector

JAKARTA - International satellite service operator IEC Telecom is expanding its presence in the Indonesian market by offering satellite-based security solutions for the Asia-Pacific defense sector at the IndoDefence event which will be held on November 2-5, 2022 at Jiexpo Kemayoran Jakarta.

IEC Telecom itself joins the IndoDefence event to underline strong comms-on-the-pause (COTP) and comms-on-the-move (COTM) solutions for remote ground areas and VSAT systems for the navy. "We are proud to be participating in IndoDefence events. We see great potential for innovation in the Asia Pacific region. At IndoDefence we will feature our comprehensive L-band portfolio for missions on the ground and various added-valued services for maritime customers," said IEC President Telecom Group Asia region-Pacific Nabil Ben Soussia in Jakarta, Wednesday 2 November. Governments in the Asia Pacific region (APAC) are investing heavily in various communication technology innovations. In addition to strengthening satellite communications and research initiatives, the Asia Pacific region is witnessing increased defense spending for surveillance, remote sensing, tracking, disaster recovery, emergency preparedness, and cybersecurity. Important operations are often run in areas with limited GSM coverage or at locations where regular telecommunication channels fail to meet the requirements for secure data transfer. Therefore, satellite communication services that are globally and securely present are the backbone of tactical operations in the defense sector. Currently, satellite technology is no longer focused on sound delivery and data only, but is assisted by applications provided by IEC Telecom and military units so that the first respondents can benefit from digitalization that was previously only possible through terrestrial networks with high bandwidth. "We are committed to providing the benefits of digitization to the Indonesian market and our participation in IndoDefence is the first milestone in our expansion in this region," added Ben.

Meanwhile, Country Director of IEC Telecom Indonesia Edi Siregar said that the use of IEC Telecom products is very necessary because it can be a solution in terms of telecommunications in the country. "That's why we are here for (state) maritime. In essence, we are a communication satellite used to help people or companies that cannot access using normal telecommunications," he added. IEC Telecom is an international satellite service operator with nearly 30 years experience in the telecommunications industry. Then, IEC Telecom also activated digitalization for the maritime industry as well as the jauk distance unit on the ground. For its own urban network, IEC Telecom provides strong satellite reserves to ensure the business continuity of customer companies. Globally, the defense and tactical satellite communication market is worth 4.6 billion US dollars in 2021. That value is expected to grow by 6.9 percent CAGR in 2027 with a total achievement of 6.8 billion US dollars.
