Deputy Sri Mulyani Optimistic Inflation 2022 Can Be Below 6 Percent

JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Finance Suahasil Nazara is optimistic that inflation can be maintained below 6 percent on an annual basis in 2022. "“Hopefully we can hold it below 6 percent on an annual basis. In December 2022 there should be Christmas and a new year, we will continue to try to return to normal levels,” he said after the inauguration of officials at the Ministry of Finance, quoted from Antara, Wednesday 2 November. Inflation in October 2022 which reached 5.71 percent on an annual basis was in accordance with the government's forecast. The volatile food or volatile food price component in October 2022 experienced inflation of 7.19 percent on an annual basis or decreased compared to September 2022 which was 9.02 percent.
