JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno expects many investors to invest in Parapuar, Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara.

Parapuar is a new tourist area destination that is being developed to become quality and sustainable tourism, provide the welfare of the local community, and increase the length of stay of tourists.

"We have just reviewed the Parapuar which means that the entrance from the forest or gate to the forest will be the first location for the construction of a quality Labuan Bajo destination managed by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy through BPOLBF (BPOLBF Implementing Agency for the Labuan Bajo Flores Authority)," he said at the Parapuar view point, Labuan Bajo, NTT, through an official statement, Jakarta, Monday.

The Parapuar area consists of four zones, namely the cultural zone, recreation zone, wild zone, and adventure zone. These four zones have investment potential of up to Rp800 billion.

The recreation zone is designated as wellness tourism with an investment target of IDR 200 billion.

Then, the wild zone includes mini zoo and Komodo biosphere heritage because the area will be developed into a Komodo biosphere heritage landmark with an investment target of IDR 40 billion.

Finally, the adventure zone is projected to attract investment of IDR 210 billion consisting of outdoor activities such as a track for running (jogging tracks) to cable cars capable of providing different colors and alternative visits while in Labuan Bajo.

"I believe that if investment comes in, there will be wider job opportunities, improving the economy of the people in Labuan Bajo, and of course improving economic welfare and progress here," said the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy.

On this occasion, Singapore's Minister of Health, Ong Ye Kung, who visited Labuan Bajo, said that Indonesia has a lot of natural and cultural wealth that can be developed into quality tour packages to attract more world tourists to visit Southeast Asia, especially Indonesia.

"I really hope that Menparekraf and his team can develop Labuan Bajo as a top class in the world. I think Labuan Bajo is very unique, and I also hope that with the development of Parapuar more investors will invest here, so that they can create better jobs because tourism is one of the best types for investment and provide many benefits for many people," he said.
