JAKARTA - Welcoming the 77th National Electricity Day, the PLN of the Greater Jakarta Distribution Main Unit (UID) presents the innovation of Mobile Public Electric Vehicle Charging Station (SPKLU) for electric car owners who run out of batteries along the way. SPKLU Mobile is the answer to concerns for electric car users when the battery runs out and is far from SPKLU.

This mobile SPKLU is carried by motorbike and ready to be called, connected to the nearest Low Voltage Network (JTR), and ready to be charged to an electric vehicle. The power that is applied is 22 kw, enough to fill electric vehicles to the nearest SPKLU or return to their homes," said Doddy B. Pangaribuan, General Manager of PLN UID Jakarta Raya in an official statement, Friday, October 28.

Doddy continued, the SPKLU Mobile prototype was brought using an electric motorbike so that it was in line with environmentally friendly purposes in the use of electric vehicles. The charger uses an AC type with a maximum voltage of 400 Volt AC.

SPKLU Mobile has 1 AC Type-2 connector and 22 kw output power. This innovation has been tested to charge an Ionic 5 electric car with a battery capacity of 58 kw and the results take approximately 3.5 hours to 5 hours to 100 percent.

The mobilization of SPKLU Mobile takes a short time and is easily accessible because it is integrated with the PLN Mobile application. PLN plans this SPKLU Mobile prototype to be developed in 16 units spread throughout the work area of PLN UID Jakarta Raya, solely to provide convenience and convenience for customers who use electric vehicles.

"In terms of supplying cukip electricity, infrastructure is increasing, so don't hesitate to immediately switch to using electric vehicles. PLN is very supportive and continues to collaborate for the development of this EV ecosystem," explained Doddy.

Along with the increase in electric vehicle users, the number of SPKLU is also expected to offset the increase in the volume of electric vehicles. Currently, there are 26 SPKLU locations with 38 chargers spread across the Jakarta area. Meanwhile, PLN, PT Grab, and Kymco's 22 cabinets in 16 locations around Jakarta.

The availability of SPKLU and SPBKLU infrastructure will continue to be improved to support the growth of the electric vehicle ecosystem, especially to meet the enthusiasm of the community in using electric vehicles.
