YOGYAKARTA The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) through the Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) continues to accelerate the construction of a number of toll roads to improve connectivity in Indonesia. Based on BPJT records, toll roads that are already operating reach 2,500 kilometers.

The massive construction of toll roads is expected to reduce existing congestion, spur the center of new economic growth, increase smooth connectivity, and reduce travel time, even to half of the existing routes.

The toll road that has been built by BPJT also has its own uniqueness. Some split the hills, winding around, and some of the constructions were made environmentally friendly and did not damage the existing cultural heritage.

Until December 2022, BPJT has set 19 toll road projects to complete the construction process.

Meanwhile, until September 2022, there are eight new toll roads along 115.35 km that have been inaugurated and operational. While the remaining 11 toll roads are targeted for completion by the end of December 2022.

For the Cibitung-Cilincing and Serpong-Balaraja 1A sections, Jokowi has just inaugurated it on September 20, 2022.

Please note, the Cibitung-Cilincing Toll Road is part of the Jakarta Outer Ring Road (JORR) 2 network. It is hoped that the Toll Road which is part of the JORR 2 network will be completed 100% by the end of 2023.

In addition to the eight sections above, BPJT will operate the Pekanbaru-Bangkinang Toll Road on 27 October 2022 at 07.00 WIB. During the socialization period, BPJT will not tariff users passing through the toll road. However, users of the toll road who want to pass must continue to tap electronic money cards (one card) at the toll gate.

The segment that will be operated is Gate to Gate (Exit Toll Road of Sungai Pinang Village Exit Bangkinang Toll Road) along 31 km.
