JAKARTA - Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan met with the Japanese delegation to discuss plans for a trade return between business actors of the two countries.

The meeting of Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan, the Japanese business delegation, took place on the sidelines of the 37th Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) event at the International Convention and Exhibition (ICE) Bumi Serpong Damai (BSD), Tangerang, Banten.

Japanese business delegations are representatives of Indonesian business actors and importers of products for the furniture, wood products and household tools, shells of palm kernels, food and beverage, and agriculture.

"The meeting discussed a trade return plan between business actors from the two countries for shell products of palm kernels, fertilizers, and car tires from Indonesia with processed milk products from Japan," he said in an official statement, Friday, October 21.

Zulhas, as Zulkifli Hasan is familiarly called, hopes that the trade relations that have been well established between Indonesia and Japan in various sectors can be maintained and improved, including halal products.

"The Ministry of Trade and trade representatives are ready to assist and support business actors in improving trade performance, especially the export of Indonesian products to the Japanese market," he said.

At the meeting, Zulhas also appreciated Japanese business actors for their participation in the 2022 TEI activities. During the two days of the 2022 TEI event, Japan has made trade commitment transactions of 412 million US dollars and is expected to continue to increase.

"I also thank you for the presence and participation of the business delegation in the series of TEI 2022 activities. I appreciate the high level of good cooperation that has been established between all of you and Indonesian business actors," he said.
