JAKARTA - The International Hajj Conference is a momentum for digitizing the hajj ecosystem. This is in line with Saudi Arabia's plan to bring changes in the way of registration procedures that must be carried out by pilgrims.

This activity is part of the ISEF 2022 series held by the Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH) in collaboration with Bank Indonesia which will be held on October 7, 2022, in a hybrid manner through Zoom and the BPKH Youtube and directly at the Jakarta Convention Center.

Secretary of the BPKH Emir Rio Krishna explained that the 2022 International Hajj Conference will discuss the theme Digitalization and Inclusiveness in the Hajj Ecosystem.

"The theme will be discussed by inviting Keynote Speakers and panelists from various government agencies, financial institutions, and business practitioners from within and outside the country," explained Emir, in Jakarta, Tuesday, October 4.

The ISEF is the largest annual event in Indonesia that is a forum for the integration of various activities in the Islamic economics and finance sector (Eksyar). The ISEF on its way evolved from a national-scale activity to an international scale activity where since 2019 BPKH has participated through the International Seminar.

The ISEF itself has become an event to be reckoned with in the world Excavation event calendar.

The 9th ISEF event in 2022 will be held on October 5-9 in a hybrid manner with the theme Recover Together Recover Stronger: Optimizing Sharia Economy and Finance for Inclusive Recovery, in line with the theme of the G20 Indonesia Presidency.

Emir explained that technological advances have had a significant impact in various sectors. Through digital transformation, many people benefit from improving services in various sectors.

In the Hajj Ecosystem, there is a trend that arises from this digital transformation.

In addition, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is currently developing a digital registration system for pilgrims who want to perform the pilgrimage. This will bring changes in the way of registration procedures that must be carried out by pilgrims.

"BPKH has also implemented digitization in the management of Hajj funds, where the benefits of Hajj funds are distributed to pilgrims through virtual accounts. This has encouraged financial service inclusiveness to Hajj pilgrims and realized accountability for managing Hajj funds," said Emir.
