BALI - Minister of Trade (Mendag) Zulkifli Hasan ensured that there would be no removal of the Domestic Market Obliation (DMO) policy which required business actors to supply 300,000 tons of crude palm oil into the country.

"Nothing," said the Trade Minister when he visited Badung Market, Bali, as reported by Antara, Wednesday, September 21.

The same thing was conveyed by the Acting Director General of Domestic Trade of the Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) Syailendra, who said that the palm oil DMO would still be implemented.

This aims to ensure the certainty of domestic palm oil supply, so that supply and prices are maintained.

According to Syailendra, the DMO palm oil policy is quite effective in maintaining domestic supply and cooking oil prices.

"Yes, 300 thousand tons per month so that supply is maintained. And this is true realization, we continue to monitor it. Almost never below that," said Syailendra.

Regarding the potential for exports of palm oil that are lost because DMO is still valid, Syailendra said that in terms of exports, it can still be done in large quantities.

"If 300 thousand tons are supplied, multiplied by nine, then the export is 2.7 million tons. That's only in Java. If he is packaged like Kumita, the other time is 1.5. If he is Eastern Indonesia, the portion will be added," said Syailendra.

He added that the Ministry of Trade continues to evaluate in meetings every Tuesday and Friday. The results of the evaluation show that Kumita is already available in various markets at a price of 14,000 per liter.

"I have been to Manokwari, Sorong, Jayapura, Timika, Merauke, we have sent them and the price is the same," said Syailendra.

Furthermore, the Trade Minister will release the shipment of oilita for the Eastern Indonesia region, where on September 24, 2022 there will be a shipment from Surabaya to North Maluku.
