Jokowi Inaugurated, The Cibitung-Cilincing Toll Road Can Reduce Congestion Towards Tanjung Priok Port

JAKARTA - The Cibitung-Cilincing Toll Road has been inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi) today. The presence of the toll road, which is part of the Jakarta Outer Ring Road (JORR) 2 toll road construction project, is expected to facilitate the flow of goods sent from industrial areas in Bekasi, Karawang and its surroundings to Tanjung Priok Port or vice versa.

Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi revealed, so far traffic jams often occur in the Tanjung Priok Port area. With the presence of this Cibitung-Cilincing toll road, it is hoped that it will unravel congestion from and to the port. So that it will have an impact on reducing logistics costs.

Furthermore, Budi said that if later this toll road is connected to Kalibaru Port, it will further reduce logistics costs. It is even estimated that it could be reduced by 50 percent.

"If later the toll road access reaches Kalibaru Port, it will also be finished. It is hoped that it can reduce logistics costs by up to 50 percent," he said in an official statement, Tuesday, September 20.

Budi said, with the increasing competitiveness of domestic products, it is also hoped that it can increase the interest of investors both domestically and foreignly to invest in the industrial areas of Bekasi, Karawang and its surroundings.

Not only at Tanjung Priok Port, the construction of toll road access to and from Patimban Port, Subang, West Java, which is targeted for completion in 2024 will also improve port performance.

Furthermore, Budi said the presence of the Patimban Port would also complement the existence of the Tanjung Priok Port to facilitate the distribution of national logistics.

"For industrial areas in Bekasi, they can go to Tanjung Priok Port and industrial areas in Karawang can go to Patimban Port. This will create a good competition and will further improve the services of the two ports," he said.

In the inauguration of the Cibitung-Cilincing Toll Road, President Jokowi said, with fast access, goods mobility will be easier and expected to strengthen the competitiveness of Indonesian products to be exported.

"Without the support of good infrastructure, it is impossible for us to compete with other countries," he said.

For your information, the 27.2 Km Cibitung-Cilincing Toll Road was built and operated by PT Cibitung Tanjung Priok Tollways (PT CTP), which is owned by PT Access to Indonesian Port and PT Menara Maritime Indonesia.

The two companies are a subsidiary of PT Pelindo Solusi Logistics (SPSL), which is one of the sub-holdings of PT Pelindo in the logistics and hinterland development sector. With the direct involvement of PT Pelindo, which also manages Tanjung Priok Port, it is hoped that it will further improve service to container and freight trucks, from and to ports.

On this occasion, the President also inaugurated the Serpong-Balaraja Toll Road section 1A along 5.1 Km which is part of JORR 3.
