Blue Bird Makes Efforts To Choose Efficiency Fuel And Energy Sources

JAKARTA - PT Blue Bird Tbk understands and supports all government measures and policies carried out to maintain economic stability in order to maintain Indonesia's economic recovery. The company is also trying to make efficiency by choosing fuel and efficient energy sources.

President Director of PT Blue Bird Tbk Sigit Djokosoetono said the growth of the land transportation sector remained positive until the end of the year, in the midst of uncertain global economic conditions and even increasing fuel in the country. This is in line with the various steps and policies taken by the Government so that market conditions immediately improve, economic stability is maintained and Indonesia can achieve the national growth target set.

"Through various challenges throughout the Bluebird journey to serve the Indonesian people for more than 50 years, we are optimistic that land transportation sector growth will remain positive until the end of the year," said Sigit, in a written statement, Thursday, September 8.

To increase cost and operational efficiency impacting consumer services and company performance, the company has always tried to increase operational efficiency. Bluebird has taken several strategic steps, including converting 23 percent of the total Bluebird fleet operating to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) fuel, procuring electric taxis, engine efficiency through periodic maintenance and workshop innovation.

Bluebird has also fulfilled the Company's commitment to realizing Bluebird Sustainable Vision 50:30, namely reducing the Company's carbon emissions and operating exhaust gas by 50 percent by 2030.

As is known, Gas Fuel (BBG) is cheaper than the price of fuel oil (BBM), 1 Liter Setara Pertalite (LSP) of Rp4,500 while Pertalite at a new price of Rp10 thousand per liter.

The use of BBG in Bluebird taxis is in line with the optimization of natural gas utilization which is being encouraged by the government, previously the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Arifin Tasrif encouraged the realization of Gas Fuel (BBG) in the transportation sector to build energy independence.

Arifin said, Indonesia has a fairly large gas content, this condition can be used as an energy source in the transportation sector. That way it can create energy independence, because it does not rely on imported energy such as fuel oil (BBM).

"Our gas is also quite large and it's better, independent with the abilities we have ourselves than fuel," said Arifin.
