Hutama Karya Committed To Complete The Construction Of The Padang-Pekanbaru Toll Road For 254.8 Kilometers

JAKARTA - PT Hutama Karya (Persero) as a state-owned company is committed to completing the construction of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS) including the 254.8 km Padang-Pekanbaru toll road project. Director of Operations III Hutama Karya Koentjoro said, one of the Padang-Pekanbaru sections, namely the 36 km Padang-Sicincin Section, which was carried out by Hutama Karya's subsidiary, PT HK Infrastructure (HKI), has now reached land progress of close to 70 percent with construction progress reaching 45 percent. "We are grateful to all those who have helped complete the land acquisition for the construction of the Padang-Sicincin Section. Hutama Karya will soon restart construction work in the field," Koentjoro said in a statement in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Thursday, September 1. The construction progress is highly dependent on land acquisition which is often a challenge in the field, where the Padang &ndash & Siccin Section itself, the construction progress has been stopped since December 2021 due to land acquisition. With the immediate completion of land acquisition, it is hoped that the company can immediately speed up the construction of the toll road according to the land that has been acquired and on time. "We are targeting the acceleration of the construction of this toll road to be completed according to the target in 2024 if land acquisition is according to plan, so that it can immediately bring benefits The surrounding community," said Koentjoro. The overall presence of the Pekanbaru-Padang Toll Road will bring positive benefits to the economy and tourism of the two local regions. This toll road will later cut travel time from Padang to Pekanbaru from 9 hours via arterial roads to approximately 3 hours via toll roads with an average speed of 80 kilometers per hour. Not only cutting travel time, this toll road will open connectivity between regions in order to facilitate logistics distribution. In addition, this toll road will connect two seaports located in Padang and Dumai, Riau and will utilize the mobility of people and goods.
