Optimize The Momentum Of The G20 Presidency, Indonesia For Local Culture To The World

JAKARTA - The government through the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy said that Indonesia has not only the opportunity to promote the leadership of the G20, but can also introduce culture, tourism, and the creative industry.

Please note, later there will be an event titled the Rhapsody of the Archipelago Culture Festival as a series of Indonesian G20 Presidency.

The Rhapsody of the Archipelago Cultural Festival presents a variety of musical and dance performances that represent Indonesian culture. This activity was also enlivened by music performances from Italy and dances from India as the G20 Troika.

Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto welcomed the activity. According to him, this agenda is part of a series of events supporting the Indonesian G20 Presidency which aims to encourage closer interactions and cooperation with friendly countries, especially through works of art and culture.

"We must take advantage of this G20 Presidency momentum to introduce our local culture and wisdom to the international community and through the Rhapsody of the Archipelago Cultural Festival, which is one of our efforts, to introduce Indonesian cultural diversity to the world community," he said in a written statement on Saturday, August 27.

Coordinating Minister Airlangga added that the G20 Presidency, Indonesia also plays a role in voicing the interests of developing countries regarding several key things, such as equal access to vaccination, a just and affordable energy transition, digital transformation, food security.

"We also want to provide a showcase for other countries regarding the handling of a good pandemic and become Indonesia's strength to restore economic conditions," he said.

For information, in addition to focusing on post-pandemic recovery, Indonesia's G20 Presidency also encourages the acceleration of the cultural sector and the revival of the cultural industry.

In addition, this agenda also introduces a new approach in the form of concrete deliverables, namely projects, programs, or initiatives as a real benefit and responsibility of the G20 which is expected to be able to become a leading examples for sustainable development.

Airlangga himself hopes that Indonesia's role will be able to provide concrete benefits that can be felt by the entire community. He also hopes that the support and commitment of various parties so that the G20 event can be carried out properly.

"Let us together strengthen our commitment, to support the smooth running and success of the 2022 G20 Indonesia Presidency to encourage our national economic recovery," said Coordinating Minister Airlangga.
