JAKARTA - Head of the Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) Dwi Soetjipto denied the issue that ExxonMobil would leave Indonesia.

It is known that so far ExxonMobil has been the implementing operator in the Cepu Block.

"There is no information about ExxonMobil leaving. There used to be that issue and we have also confirmed with ExxonMobil Cepu, they also stated that there is no such plan," he said in Jakarta, Monday, August 22.

Dwi added that until now he had not heard of the plan to leave from any party, including the government.

In fact, continued Dwi, currently ExxonMobil is developing the potential in the Cepu Working Area (WK).

One of the potentials being carried out is the plan to drill five infill wells and drilling exploration wells for the clastic layer.

Not only that, continued Dwi, ExxonMobil also has potential gas sources that can be developed further, such as the Cendana and Alas Tua fields.

"There are two potential gas sources, namely Cendana and Alas Tua, which ExxonMobil is currently preparing and will develop in the future, and currently discussing their investment plans going forward," he said.

For your information, the issue of ExxonMobil's departure from Indonesia was raised by the Deputy Chairman of Commission VII DPR RI Eddy Soeparno.

"So this is a big PR for us. If we hear about it, hopefully this is not true. If it becomes a fact that Exxon itself is in Cepu if they get the right price they will leave Indonesia. Shell has already left the Masela Block. IDD has Chevron also left. Sakakemang also has the potential that it will be divested," said Eddy in a Webinar in Jakarta, Thursday, August 18.
