Minister Of SOEs: It's Not The Era For Rich People To Use Subsidized Fuel

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir continues to encourage subsidized fuel oil (BBM) to be targeted. Because, said Erick, now is not the era for rich people to use subsidized fuel.

For this reason, Erick admitted that he continues to encourage the implementation of the MyPertamina system so that subsidized fuel can be properly targeted.

Through this platform, said Erick, people who are entitled to subsidized fuel get full protection from the government to get access to subsidized fuel.

"We continue to strive so that subsidized fuel is right on target. It is no longer an era for those who can afford (the rich) instead to use subsidized fuel," he said in Jakarta, Monday, August 22.

Erick has also asked Pertamina's directors to maintain the supply of subsidized fuel. The request was submitted by telephone.

In addition, Erick also asked Pertamina to improve services related to the supply of subsidized fuel to the public.

"God willing, let's maintain the supply of fuel and the use of subsidized fuel so that it is truly on target," said Erick.

Regarding the availability of subsidized fuel supply, Erick Thohir some time ago went directly to check it by conducting sudden inspections (sidak) at a number of public fuel filling stations (SPBU) in Tangerang.

He is committed to ensuring the availability of a safe supply of fuel.

From the results of monitoring at the Kemuning gas station and Balaraja gas station, Erick said, the supply of Pertalite and Solar is well maintained at this time, although it had experienced a decline in supply some time before.

"Alhamdulillah, at the Kemuning gas station the availability of Pertalite has been maintained. At the Balaraja gas station, the availability of diesel fuel is monitored safely," said Erick.
