The Price Of Cooking Oil In Batam City Has Dropped Drastically, Traders: Sales Still No Increase

BATAM - The price of cooking oil in Batam City has continued to decline in the last two months. Recently, the price of cooking oil in traditional markets has now touched the price of Rp. 32 thousand per two liters.

A trader at Batam's Mega Legenda Market, Mardiyanto said, for pillow-packed cooking oil, one liter is valued at Rp. 15,000. Meanwhile, two-liter packaging from various brands also decreased by 33 percent.

He revealed that the two-liter packaging for the Hayat and Fortune brands is now priced at Rp. 32 thousand. . Then the Bimoli brand is Rp. 38 thousand per two liters, Sanco is Rp. 41 thousand per two liters from the previous price of Rp. 48 thousand.

"Now the price has dropped quite a bit," said Mardiyanto as quoted from Antara, Saturday, August 13.

However, Mardiyanto said there has been no impact on the increase in sales even though the price of cooking oil has dropped drastically.

"Sales after the price of oil fell back to normal, there was no change. But if there is no increase, it is still standard. The price of cooking oil has fallen for 2 months," said Mardiyanto.

With the condition of the cooking oil price that has gradually declined, Mardiyanto hopes that the price of cooking oil will return to normal, namely in the price range of Rp. 28 thousand per two liters.

"Hopefully the price of cooking oil can go down again as usual. In the past, the normal price of Hayat brand cooking oil was Rp. 28 thousand, but now it is Rp. 32 thousand, even yesterday it was up to Rp. 40 thousand more," he said.
