PT KAI Reveals Ticket Prices For Jakarta-Bandung High-speed Trains Starting At IDR 250,000

JAKARTA - The Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Rail (KCJB) project is still under construction. PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI revealed that the KCJB ticket price will range from Rp. 250,000 to Rp. 350,000.

KAI's VP of Public Relations Joni Martinus said ticket prices will depend on the class chosen. The service classes are divided into VIP Class with 18 customers, First Class with 28 customers, and Second Class with 555 customers.

"The tariffs that will be charged range from Rp. 250,000 to Rp. 350,000, but at this time, the tariffs are still being studied in various aspects," he said in a written statement quoted on Thursday, August 4.

Joni explained that a series of Jakarta-Bandung Fast Kerta consists of 8 trains with a capacity of 601 customers.

"The maximum speed that can be reached by KCJB is 350 km per hour with a travel time of Jakarta-Bandung or vice versa, which is 36-45 minutes," he said.

Joni said, the design of the KCIC400AF type fast train was inspired by a typical Indonesian animal, namely the Komodo dragon, with the dominant colors of red and white. The hope, said Joni, is that Indonesian identity will immediately appear when they see the design of the train.

"In the interior, such as on the chairs, there is a touch of Cirebon's typical mega cloudy motif because most of the KCJB trajectories cross the West Java region," he said.

KAI through the Indonesia-China Fast Train continues to strive to prepare KCJB as much as possible so that the KCJB dynamic test can be carried out in November 2022 to coincide with the implementation of the G20 Presidency.

With the fast train service, said Joni, it is hoped that it can help improve the community's economy, especially at the stopping stations.

“The presence of the Jakarta - Bandung Fast Train will provide options for people to transport quickly and safely. KCJB is also expected to be a momentum so that other modern transportation can be realized in Indonesia," said Joni.

Get PMN IDR 4.1 Trillion

KAI gets State Capital Participation (PMN). The PMN will be used to strengthen KAI in the completion of the Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Rail project.

The provision of PMN in 2022 amounting to Rp4.1 trillion has been approved by Commission VI of the DPRI RI.

"Currently, the investment progress of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail project has reached 85 percent. Meanwhile, his physical progress has reached 76 percent," said Joni.

Joni said, KCJB will operate on a 142.3 km double track that will stop at 4 stations, namely Halim Station (Jakarta), Karawang, Padalarang, and Tegalluar (Bandung).

KAI will continue to coordinate with stakeholders for the disbursement of the PMN. KAI will manage the PMN in an accountable, transparent and responsible manner so that it can realize fast train transportation on time.
