DBS Indonesia Appoints New President Director From Office In China

JAKARTA - PT Bank DBS Indonesia has a new boss. It is Lim Chu Chong who has served as Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Institutional Banking Group (IBG) DBS Bank Ltd China.

Lim Chu Chong replaces Paulus Sutisna as president director and is currently awaiting approval from the regulator.

As a career banker at DBS Bank, the name Lim Chu Chong is no stranger to DBS Indonesia. In addition to having more than 25 years of experience in the institutional, SME and consumer banking divisions, he also served as Commissioner of Bank DBS Indonesia.

"As a career banker at DBS Bank with in-depth business and market experience, I am confident that Lim Chu Chong will develop our capabilities in Indonesia and take business to the next level," said DBS Bank CEO Piyush Gupta in an official statement quoted on Tuesday 2 August.

In his current position as IBG COO of DBS Bank, he has led key business transformations, including establishing a new Customer Experience Office to increase customer engagement, as well as establishing an Employee Experience Office to improve employee experience and boost productivity.

As a member of the Board of Directors of the DBS Foundation, he also promotes the development of entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship. Between 2016 and 2019, Lim Chu Chong served as Head of DBS IBG in China. Previously he served as Regional Head of SME Banking.

Meanwhile, Paulus Sutisna will be appointed as a Non-independent Commissioner of Bank DBS Indonesia in the near future.

Since serving as President Director, PT Bank DBS Indonesia in 2015, Paulus Sutisna has developed Bank DBS Indonesia in transforming into a leading digital banking player.

In particular, Paulus also oversees the integration of ANZ Indonesia's consumer and priority banking businesses with DBS in 2018, as well as the launch of the digibank by DBS application in 2017.
