Citayam Fashion Week Moves To Sarinah, Erick Thohir: I'm Open For Good

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir welcomed the idea of moving the Citayam Fashion Week event to Sarinah.

Erick said that Sarinah's transformation was aimed at embracing the community.

So far, Erick admitted that he had never made any statement regarding Citayam Fashion Week.

Because according to Erick, this phenomenon is purely a movement and creative action of young people. So they are the ones who have the right to determine the direction of creativity in the future.

“I have never made a statement regarding Citayam Fashion Week. Sarinah is an alternative for Citayam Fashion Week, I'm still open," said Erick, quoted from his official Instagram @erickthohir, Tuesday, August 2.

After the revitalization, said Erick, Sarinah is now a place for young people to be creative without limits.

However, Erick wants the transfer of Citayam Fashion Week to Sarinah purely to provide more space for young people to be creative.

However, Erick doesn't want the good intentions of the young people to be mixed up with things that are beyond their goals.

"As long as it's for good, as long as it's not politicized. Poor creativity of young people, we must respect it," said Erick.

Erick said that the Citayam Fashion Week event was an innovative step for young people to appear in positive activities.

This is much better considering that many young people are experiencing problems with negative activities and are trapped in drugs and street crimes.

"We believe that the positive work of the nation's children can bring Indonesia's creative industry to the world," he said.
