79 Companies Register As Oil Producers, Priority Distribution To Eastern Indonesia

JAKARTA - A total of 79 companies have registered as Oil producers.

The initial phase of the distribution of Oilita will be focused on eastern Indonesia.

For your information, Oil is bulk cooking oil packaged in simple packaging.

Oilita is a government-owned trademark, but both state-owned and private companies can use the brand.

The Director of Basic Goods and Important Goods of the Ministry of Trade, Isy Karim, said that mass production had not yet been carried out because entrepreneurs were still taking care of distribution permits.

Later, for the initial stage, the distribution of Oilita will be prioritized for eastern Indonesia. Because, so far, people in eastern Indonesia tend to get premium packaged cooking oil at high prices.

This is because the distribution of bulk cooking oil uses jerry cans which causes difficulties in delivery.

"There are already 79 companies. The distribution priority is to eastern Indonesia. Maluku, Papua, West Papua, are being prioritized for distribution. This is still being handled by the distribution permit with BPOM," he said at Cibinong Market, Bogor, West Java, Friday, July 22.

Isy explained that Oilita, a trademark owned by the Ministry of Trade, had already obtained a distribution permit.

However, because the production is made by each company, it must take care of a permit for marketing eligibility.

"Even though the distribution permit is of the Oilita brand, each company has MD (the BPOM permit code for large industries), that is what we are dealing with in eastern Indonesia," he explained.

It is known, Oilita was officially launched on July 6 last. Meanwhile, Oil is part of the People's Bulk Cooking Oil (MGCR) program.

This oil will be priced at Rp. 14,000 per liter.

Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan hopes that the presence of Oilita can be a solution to ensure the supply of cooking oil at affordable prices for the community.

"This is a breakthrough by the Ministry of Trade as one of the efforts so that this cooking oil can be distributed cheaply and safely because it is in accordance with BPOM and SNI," he said at the launch of Oilita, at the Ministry of Trade, Jakarta, Wednesday, July 6.

With this packaged bulk cooking oil, Zulhas as Zulkifli Hasan is familiar, said that it would make it easier for people to get stock.

In fact, it facilitates the distribution process so that it is evenly distributed throughout the country.

"With the existence of packaged People's Cooking Oil, it will facilitate the distribution process, maintain cleanliness until it reaches the hands of consumers," he said.
