JAKARTA - The Public Logistics Affairs Agency (Perum Bulog) has built 13 modern rice milling plants (MRMP) that can produce premium quality rice.

Bulog's President Director Budi Waseso said the 10 MRMP factories have a dryer capacity of 288,000 tons of dry grain harvested per year, milling of 115,200 tons of dry milled grain per year, and 60,000 tons of silos.

"In 2016, we received state capital participation (PMN) funds of IDR 2 trillion. We partially built 10 MRMP units and there will be three additional MRPM units," Budi said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, July 21.

A total of 10 MRMPs are spread across Kendal and Sragen in Central Java; Bojonegoro, Magetan, Jember, and Banyuwangi in East Java; Subang and Karawang in West Java; Bandar Lampung in Lampung; Sumbawa in West Nusa Tenggara.

Meanwhile, three additional MRMPs to be built next are located in Dompu, West Nusa Tenggara, and two others in South Sulawesi which will enter the feasibility study.

The investment progress of the MRMP projects in Kendal, Sragen and Subang has been 100 percent completed and ready to be used for processing infrastructure operations for rice manufacturing at Bulog.

"The Kendal MRMP has been operating since early July 2022. This MRMP is equipped with a drying machine with a capacity of 120 tons per day, an RMU with a capacity of six tons per hour, and three silos with a storage capacity of 2,000 tons," explained Budi.

Budi explained that MRMP is a modern technology-based grain processing facility, which consists of a dryer as a dryer for harvested grain and an RMU as a machine for converting grain into rice.

The development of the MRMP infrastructure aims to assist farmers and simplify the flow of the rice processing process, which is centralized in a modern technology-based grain processing facility, which consists of a drying machine, a rice mill unit as a grain-to-rice conversion machine equipped with color sorting technology.

MRMP functions to reduce postharvest losses, increase the quantity of grain uptake, and increase grain yields which have an impact on the final yield of premium rice products.

The investment progress of the MRMP projects in Kendal, Sragen, and Subang, has been completed 100 percent with an investment value of Rp230.96 billion.

The three MRMPs have now been used in the operation of processing infrastructure for rice manufacturing at Bulog.
