JAKARTA - Property developer belonging to the late Eka Tjipta Widjaja conglomerate, Sinar Mas Land, has again collaborated with tycoon Prajogo Pangestu's company, PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk (TPIA). This collaboration was marked by the signing of the MoU which was carried out on Wednesday 13 July in BSD City.
The signing was carried out by FX Sidi Widagdo as the proxy for the board of directors of PT Bumi Serpong Damai Tbk and Edi Rivai as Director of Legal, External Affairs, & Circular Economy Chandra Asri. The cooperation is carried out for the application of asphalt with a mixture of 3.8 km or 56,138 m2 plastic plastic waste which will be implemented in BSD City.
This program aims to provide new value for plastic waste that is part of the asphalt mixture in the context of infrastructure development and improving road quality as well as implementing the circular economy concept as an effort to preserve the environment. The construction of this road infrastructure will be carried out from July 18 until the end of 2022.

Chandra Asri's Legal, External Affairs & Circular Economy Director, Edi Rivai said, "After successfully collaborating on the implementation of the first plastic asphalt in the BSD City area last year, we are delighted to be partnering with Sinar Mas Land again to continue this initiative.

We will also continue to proactively encourage partnerships and multi-stakeholder participation in the construction of plastic asphalt as an effort to overcome waste problems, especially plastic waste, in Indonesia," explained Edi.
Since 2018, Chandra Asri has implemented asphalt with a mixture of plastic waste through the Plastic Asphalt program for Indonesia Asri together with other stakeholders. So far, Chandra Asri and his partners have made a total of 50.8 km of roads with plastic asphalt and 282 tons of plastic waste that has been successfully managed from the landfill.
