JAKARTA - Minister of Trade (Mendag) Zulkifli Hasan stated that people can buy cooking oil simply by showing their Identity Card (KTP).

"It is not easy to use PeduliLindung in purchasing cooking oil, so relaxation is currently being carried out," said Zulkifli Hasan, in Bandarlampung, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, July 12.

He said the relaxation was carried out so that the distribution of cooking oil in the market could occur quickly and at an affordable price.

"So that people can buy it easily and cheaply, it is enough just to show an ID card, especially for MSME players so it won't be difficult," he said.

The existence of this policy was also responded by one of the basic necessities traders at Pasir Gintung Market, Bandarlampung Anugraha.

"This has indeed been said a few days ago by the government, but many people have difficulty when they want to buy," said Anugraha.

He continued, due to difficulties in implementing the requirements for purchasing cooking oil on the market, many people and traders were reluctant to implement the policy.

"Many buyers complain that they are afraid that their data will be spread so they don't have the right to privacy on personal data, especially now that before the election, many people don't want to do this," he said again.

A similar response was also expressed by one of the traders at the Tugu Bandarlampung Traditional Market, Rin.

"It's a bit time-consuming if you are asked to record or confirm the ID card of every buyer of cooking oil, while the work of these traders is not only about selling cooking oil," said Rin.

According to him, both traders and buyers expect convenience and affordability in distributing cooking oil.

"What is needed is not only oil, there are many other commodities, so what is needed is convenience and affordability for traders and the community in meeting their daily needs," he said.
