JAKARTA - Pertamina's President Director, Nicke Widyawati, said the Pertalite and Solar subsidized quotas are expected to collapse at the end of this year.

This is based on the increasing population mobility and the increasing trend of selling subsidized fuel.

The Pertalite quota for 2022 is 23 million kiloliters (KL).

"Our prediction with today's trend is that pertalite consumption will increase to 28.5 million KL," Nicke told reporters, Thursday, July 7.

Nicke said the government was revising Presidential Decree No. 191 of 2014 concerning the Supply, Distribution, and Retail Selling Price of Oil Fuel (BBM).

The revision of this rule, he said, could reduce Pertalite's consumption volume to 26.7 million KL.

"The potential loss due to unreplaced compensation is Rp. 20.65 trillion," said Nicke.

Besides Pertalite, the Solar subsidy quota is also predicted to break.

The subsidy solar quota is set at 14.9 million KL, while the increase can reach 17.2 million kl, above the set quota.

"The industry is also stretched. So the volume of subsidized diesel increases from the set quota of 14.9 million kl. The use can increase by 17.2 million kl," said Nicke.

Nicke added that with the revision of the rules for receiving fuel subsidies, it is predicted that the increase will be lower at the level of 16.36 million kl.
