JAKARTA - Wali Nanggroe Aceh Tgk Malik Mahmud Al-Haytar took advocacy steps to revive the PT Kertas Kraft Aceh (KKA) industry which was dissolved by the government in February 2022.
"I continue to hold meetings with Acehnese figures and policy makers in the Central Government regarding reviving this industry," said Malik Mahmud, in Aceh Besar, quoted from Antara, Friday July 1.
To note, after being officially disbanded by SOE Minister Erick Thohir, the Central Government will conduct an auction for PT Kertas Kraft Aceh (Persero) through the State Property and Auction Service Office (KPKNL).
After the announcement of the dissolution of PT KKA, the Wali Nanggroe Aceh continued to take various means, starting from coordination, consolidation and discussions with various parties, both in Aceh and the Central Government so that the company could be revived.
Today, Wali Nanggroe held a meeting with the former Chancellor of Syiah Kuala University (Unsyiah) Prof. Samsul Rizal as an effort to revive PT KKA.
"We have also asked Acehnese entrepreneurs to work together to revive the KKA factory," he said.
Malik Mahmud said that so far he has communicated and held meetings with policy makers in the Central Government so that the industry that once contributed a lot of foreign exchange for the country continues to run.
He said PT KKA is a very important industry for Aceh. One of the big industries that is not only at the national level, but on the scale of Southeast Asia.
"I am always ready to fight with the Indonesian government, with President Jokowi for support," said Malik Mahmud.
He added that if PT KKA were to run again, the factory, which is the largest in Southeast Asia, could provide benefits to the people of Aceh.
"We will improve the human resources of Acehnese children, then we must be involved in this sophisticated industry. This is the real goal of Aceh's struggle," said Malik Mahmud.
