JAKARTA - Financial transaction and transportation sector startups, OVO and Grab, launched a drive thru for Regional Government Transaction Electronification (ETP) for payment of Motor Vehicle Tax (PKB), Land and Building Tax (PBB), and Perumda Water Drink (PDAM) in Solo.

President of Grab Indonesia Ridzki Kramadibrata said this contribution was the first in Indonesia by combining three services at once through a no-queue and no-parking scheme, aka drive thru.

"This is proof of the importance of the synergy of various parties to support efforts to digitize processes and supporting economic infrastructure," he said in a written statement on Thursday, June 30.

On the same occasion, OVO President Director Karaniya Dharmasaputra said that his party supports the government's efforts to build an integrated digital ecosystem that can provide benefits to the community.

"This includes making it easier for the public to pay taxes, one of which is by paying PBB through the OVO application," he said.

Meanwhile, Surakarta Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka welcomed and appreciated Grab and OVO's initiatives that always provide innovation for public services.

"Currently, there are public service malls, there are online services as well. Here is another drive thru service," he said.

According to Gibran, all important steps in making it easier for citizens to carry out tax transactions and others must be supported.

“Especially for motor vehicle tax notices and people who still need physical evidence when paying online PBB and PDAM. We will discuss the addition of locations and additional services in the future," he explained.

This innovation is also considered to be in line with the city government's plan to continue to encourage an increase in regional revenues from the tax sector, and to make Surakarta a smart city. Bank Indonesia (BI) even recorded an achievement of the Surakarta Regional Government Transaction Electronification Index (IETPD) of 90 percent in the second quarter of 2021.

Meanwhile, the Grab OVO Drive Thru Regional Government Transaction Electronification (ETP) in Solo is a continuation of the Government's Online Transaction Acceleration Program (PATRIOT) which was launched at the end of last year. This is also support for the Team for the Acceleration and Expansion of Regional Digitization (TP2DD) launched by the President of the Republic of Indonesia and the acceleration of integrated ecosystem digital transactions.
