JAKARTA - Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono said the distribution of people's business loans (KUR) to MSME players in the fisheries and marine sector until May 2022 reached Rp3.95 trillion, an increase of 33.5 percent in the same period last year.

"This (fishery sector KUR) is still running and we are targeting the numbers to continue to grow. This is a form of the state's presence in the community to help our MSME businesses grow and develop," said Trenggono as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, June 23.

He revealed, the distribution of KUR amounting to Rp3.95 trillion reached more than 93,000 debtors who run fisheries businesses from upstream to downstream.

The distribution of KUR, he said, was mostly for cultivation business activities, trade in fishery products, and fishing businesses.

Trenggono added, in addition to distributing business capital loans, his party also assisted the beneficiaries of MSMEs.

Assistance is provided in the aspects of production, quality assurance and quality, to market access for the products produced.

This step, he continued, is to help business actors be more productive so that their business can continue to grow. Especially in the midst of a pandemic situation that has not yet ended and global economic challenges.

In addition, his party routinely conducts evaluations to ensure that the distribution of KUR is right on target, answers the needs of MSME actors, creates jobs, and contributes to economic growth in the region.

The distribution of KUR for the marine and fisheries sector throughout 2021 increased significantly to reach IDR8.05 trillion or grew 53.04 percent from the previous year.

For this year, KKP targets distribution to reach Rp. 8.9 trillion.

KKP has also collaborated with the Ministry of Agrarian Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) to help fish farmers obtain the legality of their land certificates through a number of technical guidance.

The Director General of Cultivation Fisheries of KKP Tb Haeru Rahayu said, KKP has collaborated with the Ministry of ATR/BPN in the implementation of community land empowerment activities since 2013 until now.

He said that one of the KKP programs that synergized with the Community Land Empowerment program of the Ministry of ATR/BPN was the certification program for land rights for fish cultivators (Health).

The program is an integrated and continuous activity in the context of providing pre-certification, certification, and asset access subjects and objects to economic sources, production, and post-certification markets.
