BNI Digital Transactions Grow 26 Percent: Touch IDR 175 Trillion In One Year

JAKARTA - PT Bank Negara Indonesia Tbk (BNI) is said to have continued to record digital transaction growth at the beginning of this year. In the presentation of the performance in the first quarter of 2022, the bank with the issuer code of BBNI posted an increase in digital transactions by 26.8 percent year-on-year (yoy) to Rp. 175 trillion.

BNI's IT and Operations Director YB Hariantono said that the results in the digital service segmentation further boosted the company's performance for the better.

In his notes, users of the BNI mobile banking application had reached 11.47 million customers in the first three months of 2022. This figure increased by 34 percent yoy with the number of transactions which also increased significantly by 34.7 percent to reach 128 million transactions.

"Of course, we will continue to maintain and improve this excellent achievement. The company continues to strengthen its existence to become the main banking service choice for Indonesian banking customers," he asserted.

Furthermore, Hariantono also revealed that the company has collaborated with more than 4,000 application programming interface (API) partners, with a total of 443 services.

It was said that the function of banking to provide access to financial services to the public, especially in remote areas, was also continuously improved by making branchless banking services or agents of smart behavior the spearhead.

“The number of agents has reached more than 150,000 agents to help reach segments of society that have not been served by formal financial institutions. The transaction value from us has reached IDR 18.6 trillion," he said.

In terms of electronic money, BNI's Tapcash products also support digital transactions with a total of 8.54 million cards in circulation and a transaction volume of Rp310 billion.
