JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office has named the Director General of Foreign Trade (Daglu) of the Ministry of Trade Indrasari Wisnu Wardhana as a suspect in the alleged corruption case of granting export facilities for crude palm oil (CPO) and its derivative products.

In response to this, Member of Commission VI of the DPR RI, Andre Rosiade, said that Commission VI will immediately summon the Minister of Trade Muhammad Lufti for questioning regarding the determination of the suspect against the Director General of Daglu, Ministry of Trade in the near future.

"We are still discussing it with the leadership. We will propose to summon the Ministry of Trade," he told reporters, Wednesday, April 20.

Andre did not deny that he was surprised by the appointment of the Director General of Daglu at the Ministry of Trade, Indrasari Wisnu Wardhana, as a suspect. Because, so far, his party is waiting for the mastermind behind the skyrocketing cooking oil prices.

"It certainly surprised us that Mr. Wisnu was named a suspect and even immediately arrested. Even though we have been waiting all this time for who is the perpetrator of the cooking oil mafia, suddenly the Attorney General's Office announced that Mr. Director General of Daglu Mr. Wisnu was named a suspect and detained," said Andre.

Even so, Andre stressed that the DPR RI will continue to support the steps taken by the Attorney General's Office in dismantling the cooking oil case to the grassroots. So that the problem of increasing and scarcity of cooking oil can be resolved immediately.

"Our hope is that with this law enforcement, it is hoped that the price of bulk fried oil in accordance with the HET (Highest Retail Price) can be found by the public in the markets," he said.
