One Stop Solution Fulfilling Millennial Home Needs, Erick Thohir: BTN Must Synergize With Various SOEs

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), Erick Thohir revealed that the collaboration of PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk with other SOEs is a solution to the housing needs for millennials.

Erick encourages the synergy of BTN, Perumnas, KAI, BUMN Karya, even PLN and Telkom to provide a one stop solution to Gen Z, to get convenience not only for housing but also in doing work.

"The solution offered is how we synergize the land provided by PT Kereta Api, Perumnas which builds is assisted by BUMN Karya, BTN provides financing assisted by Financial Services, PLN and Telkom synergize to provide the best solution," said Erick Thohir in his statement quoted by Antara. , Sunday 3 April.

The Minister of State-Owned Enterprises assessed that housing is a crucial problem throughout the world, including Indonesia with a population of more than 273 million people.

For this reason, it is necessary to find a one stop solution so that housing needs can be met not only for millennials but also for generation Z or Gen Z.

"We're not talking about millennials anymore, but also Gen Z, which accounts for 53 percent of the total population who experience technological disruption, changing employment opportunities, changing business opportunities. The government must and must be present so that Gen Z gets the best facilities not only for their work but also for housing as their needs," said Erick.

He assessed that synergy could provide something tangible to Gen Z who today really need it, not only affordable housing but also efficiency in their daily lives where when they work they can access transportation facilities that make their work easier.

"I thank all Ministries who have made sure these things are answered, I thank all Directors and Commissioners of SOEs who believe that this housing concept can work, because this is a pilot project, I have only seen three, if this can be in dozens of places, this would be a good solution” said Erick.

Meanwhile, BTN President Director Haru Koesmahargyo said, Bank BTN is ready to synergize with Perum Perumnas and other SOEs to support housing for millennials. One of them is by realizing the millennial dream of owning a residence with the concept of Transit Oriented Development (TOD).

"There is a huge opportunity to bridge the gap between demand and supply for decent housing in this millennial segment," Haru said.

In accordance with the mandate from the Minister of SOEs, Bank BTN will synergize with other SOEs, especially SOEs to ensure the supply of housing for millennials is met.
