JAKARTA - PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry will implement an online ticket booking system. This system is relied upon to anticipate prolonged queues of crossing passengers during the 2022 Lebaran homecoming period. As is known, after two years of being banned, this year the government no longer prohibits going home.

ASDP Indonesia President Director Ferry Ira Puspadewi said that actually digitizing ticket purchases through the online system had been carried out since 2018. According to him, the online ticket or e-ticketing system has proven to reduce prolonged queues.

Ira said that since 2017 every Lebaran period, at the ports of Merak, Bakauheni, Ketapang, and Gilimanuk there have been very severe queues. In fact, in 2016 the queue was up to 12 km. Therefore, since 2018 ASDP has implemented cashless.

"We have implemented an e-ticketing system. This is very helpful, God willing, this has been since 2018 where the queues have become more scalable. There are no longer long queues until chaos occurs," he said in a meeting with Commission VI DPR, Tuesday, March 29.

Furthermore, according to Ira, similar to previous years, in 2022 it is predicted that the busiest ports with traffic will be Merak, Bakauheni, Ketapang and Gilimanuk. Therefore, it is hoped that the online ticketing system will reduce queues.

"With online pre-journey ticketing, there are no longer queues of people buying at the port," he said.

According to Ira, of the 34 ports managed by ASDP, 21 ports have been digitalized with digital ticket sales. However, specifically for the Merak-Bakauheni port, you can use the Freizy application.

Furthermore, Ira said for ports that have not been able to use the application because the infrastructure is not adequate. So, ticket purchases are made via WhatsApp, or Go-show.

"You can make a reservation using WhatsApp or use a go-show. So because the infrastructure is not yet available. For the Merak-Bakauheni, Java and Bali can already go through the app. Because there's no wifi infrastructure. So it's digital but not using the app," he said.

Ira also explained that purchasing tickets through the Ferizy application can be connected to a digital wallet.

"Now it is connected with Brizzi, Tap-cash, Flazz, virtual accounts, e-wallet with Dana, Ovo, LinkAja, Shopee pay," he explained.

In addition, Ira admits that although online ticketing has been implemented since 2018. However, there are still many people who do not know about it. Therefore, ASDP will increase socialization.

"Because so far the system has been running but during the holiday season, high sessions like this there are still people who just know they can't buy tickets (at the port). We know that we are aware that the socialization is still ongoing even though this has been going on for about 3 years, " he said.
