Pertamina Optimis Jambaran - Tiung Biru Drives Regional Economic Improvement

JAKARTA - Head of the PSN Division of Energy & Technology Sector KPPIP Yudi Adhi Purnama revealed that the energy to be produced from the Jambaran - Tiung Biru (JTB) Gas Unitization Field Development Project in Bojonegoro, East Java has the potential to boost regional economic growth.

Therefore, he continued, the success of the project which is entering the completion phase is awaited by various parties, including the Committee for the Acceleration of Priority Infrastructure Provision (KPPIP) formed by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

"The Jambaran Tiung Biru (JTB) Gas Unitization Field Development Project is one of the National Strategic Projects (PSN) in the energy sector which is included in the list for the Acceleration of Implementation of National Strategic Projects set by President Jokowi through Presidential Decree No. 109 of 2020," he said, Monday, March 21. .

The JTB gas project operated by PT Pertamina EP Cepu (PEPC) Zone 12 Regional Indonesia Timur Subholding Upstream Pertamina which is scheduled to start onstream in the middle of this year has a strategic role in meeting energy and as a generator for regional economic growth.

"This JTB is very important, the existence of this project is beneficial for the area around here, because it can encourage economic growth here. Of course, apart from ensuring the availability of energy for the East Java and Central Java regions," said Yudi.

The pandemic condition that has lasted for two years in Indonesia has made several PSNs, including the JTB gas field project, experience various challenges. The challenge factors encountered will be inventoried before being coordinated with the relevant institutions in order to find a solution.

The JTB project is expected to become one of the largest gas producers in Indonesia and has a gas production capacity of 192 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD). This gas project with a capex value of 1.5 billion US dollars in the future will supply a large enough gas supply in Java Island.
